For those uninitiated with the trim levels Volvo offer, it can be very confusing. We get a lot of questions regarding the differences between our trim levels. What are our trim levels called? What is difference between all of them? What trim level would best suit my needs?
Volvo offers 3 different levels of luxury. Namely Momentum, R-design, and Inscription. There is no difference in throttle mapping between the trims, meaning the power trains offered are identical across all 3 trim levels. The real difference has to do with features and subtitle details with upholstery and packages. Let’s start with the Momentum trim level.
The momentum trim is Volvo’s entry-level trim. You can tell this by several factors. For starters, the momentum packs tend to not have any emblems on the vehicle in comparison to the R-design and Inscription. The wheels on the momentum are also smaller in comparison to the Inscription and R-design. You will usually find 18-inch alloys with 5-spoke rims. Another difference has to do with the material on the seats. The momentum comes standard with Textile/Vinyl upholstery. And the driver seats are mechanically adjustable as well as the passenger seat.
The R-Design trim has a far sportier look to it. It has paddle shift gear knobs and sportier 19-inch 5-spoke alloys. It also gets R-design emblems on the wheels and the rear of the vehicle. The exterior of the roof is also painted with a glossy black paint which stands out against the rest of the body color on the R-designs.
The Inscription is Volvo’s most luxurious trim. The vehicle has 18 inch 6-spoke alloys which is different from the 5-spoke wheels offered on the other trim levels.
