The Volvo V40 first debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. Since then the Volvo V40 has been Volvo’s best-selling vehicle which is why it came as a surprise that Volvo South Africa announced the vehicle had been discounted in the month of December 2019. To honour the V40’s legacy lets have a look at its evolution from its debut in 2012 up until December 2019.
The 1st generation V40’s were well received all over the world. Primarily in Europe winning best executive hatchback at the Scottish Car of the year awards back in 2012 in Glasgow. One year later the world saw the 1st of the Volvo V40 Cross Country. A bulky more spacious version of the original V40. Volvo Launched the 1st V40 Cross Countries in India.
In 2016 Volvo released a face lift of the V40 featuring Volvo trademark “Thors Hammer” LED Headlights and updating the range of specs and engines. The cabin in the newer models look quite similar to the older version with a newer selection of upholstery and packages you can add on to the vehicle.
Now with Volvo South Africa officially phasing out the V40 they now come standard with 7 year/140 000 km warranty to keep you on the road for longer and in the driver seat of the iconic hatchback. They are also officially sold out so the only V40’s left in the country are at Volvo’s dealers.
